Commissioned by Noreen Jacky as a gift for her husband Jon on the occasion of their 25th wedding anniversary, "Beneath the Apple Tree" is a charming duet for Flute and Cello. Composed in the key of D major, this work features beautiful melodies and rich harmonies, and is suitable for recitals.

An arrangement of this piece for recorder and viola da gamba won First Place in the 2006 Orpheus Music Composition Competition.
