"A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square"  was composed by Manning Sherwin (music) and Eric Maschwitz (lyrics) in 1939.  The title refers to a large square in the Mayfair area of London.  Long considered a jazz standard, it has been recorded by Frank Sinatra, Glenn Miller and Harry Connick, Jr., just to name a few.
