La Bomba

A programmatic madrigal called an ensalada, a genre of polyphonic secular music mixing languages and dialects and nonsensical quodlibets. The story details the aftermath of a shipwreck which has the sailors panicking, praying, and (upon eyeing the rescue ship) partying. "La bomba" ends with the proverb: "For if there are perils at sea, there are perils ashore and perils in false brotherhood."
