One of Sousa's (November 6, 1854 - March 6, 1932) lesser known marchs, the Corcoran Cadets (1890) was written for and dedicated to both the sharp Washington D.C. drill team and to philanthropist William C Corcoran. This march is also referred to as "The March Past of the Corcoran Cadets".
