"Virga Jesse" is a sacred motet composed by Anton Bruckner in 1885. It is a great example of Bruckner's marriage of beautiful vocal lines and late Romantic harmony.

The translation of the original text is as follows:

The rod of Jesse hath blossomed:
a Virgin hath brought forth God and man:
God hath restored peace,
reconciling in Himself the lowest with the highest.
