"Wichita Lineman" was written by Jimmy Webb and made famous by Glen Campbell in 1968. Rolling Stone magazine lists it as one of the "500 Greatest Songs of All Time" ranked at #192. Jimmy Webb's inspiration for the lyrics came from a car trip driving on straight road looking into the setting sun. He passed a seemingly endless line of telephone poles, and in the distance, he noticed the silhouette of a solitary lineman atop a pole. He described it as "the picture of loneliness."

This beautiful and emotional theme, though technically simple, is musically challenging and rewarding, and something quite unique in the brass quintet repertoire.

Trumpet parts sound best played on Flugelhorns.

Includes an optional drum set part.
