An original work by Jack Gale. A contrapuntal mix of Bach and Rock.
Both trumpets double on Piccolo Trumpet.
The Pavanne is a fascinating and beautiful work. The piece starts off slowly with a singing melody in the trumpet, and it is easy to see the influence of Bach's writing throughout. As the piece progresses, both trumpets begin to exchange obligato piccolo trumpet lines as the melody transitions to the horn, After a brief return to the opening, the work ends triumphantly.
Jack Gale is masterful in his approach to brass writing. Pavanne is appropriate for college students due to the rhythmic challenges and the range, which ascends to f'''.
