Vernal Sequences No. 5

With references to two hymn tunes typically associated with Easter (the 15th c. French melody O filii et filiae and Johann Gottfried Schicht's 18th c. melody Ascendit Deus), "Vernal Sequence No. 5" can be performed throughout the year and in any service or concert situation.

The timpani part is optional but highly desirable. When timpani are not available, the alternate passages to be played are indicated in the lower brass parts by cue-sized notation. When timpani are present, these notes would remain tacet.
