The Skye Boat Song was collected in late 19th-century Scotland by Anne Campbelle MacLeod. It recalls the journey of Charles Edward Stuart (Bonnie Prince Charlie) to the Isle of Skye following his defeat at the battle of Culloden. The story and strong melodic line have kept this song popular for over a century, and it is currently enjoying renewed success as the theme song of the television program Outlander. It is here arranged for Horn in F and piano, with an optional flute part.
