This selection can help you round out Holiday concerts that need some Hanukkah music. This arrangement starts with a musical spinning of the dreidel then into a very straightforward treatment of the melody. This is followed by a 13 part round canon which turns the tune into something ethereal. Next comes an unexpected twist with a Latin rock version that would make Santana proud, then finally a pretty waltz followed by a touch of Gloria in Excelsis Deo.
Instrumentation:
- 3 Trumpets in B♭ (Tpt. 1 doubles on Cowbell)
- Flugelhorn (doubles on Claves)
- 2 Horns
- 2 Trombones
- Bass Trombone
- Euphonium (doubles on Guiro)
- Tuba
- Percussion (Snare, Bass Drum, Suspended Cymbal, Crash Cymbal, Wind Chimes, Triangle, Whistle, Timbales, opt. Timpani)
