A gorgeous, lush interpretation of the well-known theme. Opens with a tradional rendition followed by Allan's harmonically creative re-imagining of the piece. Breathtaking in its beauty!
This piece was suggested by Allan's wife, Marion. It was one of her grandmother's favorite songs who sang it for little Marion as a lullaby when she was visiting her grandparents. The melody was written by the great German composer Brahms in 1868 and the lyrics had been published earlier in 1808 as "Des Knaben Wunderhorn". With Brahms' beautiful and simple melody it then became a popular lullaby and a folk song.
