“Feed the Birds” is featured in the 1964 film Mary Poppins. It is said that “Feed the Birds” was Walt Disney’s favorite song. It describes an old beggar woman who sits on the steps of St Paul’s Cathedral, selling bags of breadcrumbs to passers-by so that they can feed the pigeons that gather around here. Tuppance is English slang for “two pence”.
This excellent arrangement by Jack Gale is a particularly appropriate programming choice for children’s concerts.
