Yes…this is the famous song from Pink Floyd’s seminal album “The Wall.” The lowest part can be played on tuba, but it really shines when played on bass trombone, as it recaptures the ethereal fretless bass solos.  This arrangement allows some space for hard-driving rock improvisation for trombone and then trumpet. Towards the end is an interesting and fun section of mouthpiece buzzing for the trumpets which occurs after where the “and the worms ate into his brain” lyric would be. If the most up to date charts in your repertoire consist of Stephen Foster and Sousa, then it’s time to update and this chart is for you!
