Suite Mexicana

Dedicated to the legendary trumpeter Raphael Mendez, “Suite Mexicana” is a multi-function arrangement of three popular Mexican songs: Chiapanecas, Cielito lindo and Mexican Hat Dance. The first trumpet part is in two-line format, with the second line written to reflect the performances of Mendez. The 1st trumpet player can play either line or “mix and match” depending on the performance situation. The three songs can be performed individually, or as a medley. This is a wonderful (and overdue) tribute to one of the twentieth century’s greatest brass players.
