When She Loved Me from Disney’s Toy Story 2

“When She Loved Me” was sung by Sarah McLachlan in the movie Toy Story 2 and was nominated for the 2000 Academy Award for Best Original Song. 

Jessie explains her past and delivers a strong message to Woody through the song “When She Loved Me”. She describes that her former owner Emily once loved her the way that Andy now loves Woody. She then explains that a toy owner’s love doesn’t last forever, because children outgrow the need for their childhood toys.

This beautiful and emotional theme, though technically simple, is musically challenging and rewarding.
