En Forme De Habanera

The short piece was written in March 1907, originally for low voice and piano. It was composed at about the same time that Ravel was working on two other major works with a Spanish flavor, the Rapsodie espagnole – which also features another Habanera – and the opera L’Heure espagnole.

This charming and short piece is perfect for a recitals and provides a pleasant change from the traditional classical and baroque trumpet repertoire.
