Giuseppe Tartini (8 April 1692 – 26 February 1770) was an Italian composer and violinist of the Baroque era born in Pirano in the Republic of Venice (now Piran, Slovenia). Tartini was a prolific composer, composing over a hundred pieces for the violin, the majority of them violin concertos.
The arranger writes…"The Giuseppe Tartini Concerto in D was adapted from the Violin Concerto in E Major, D. 53, and made famous by the great Maurice André.
There are a few editions available for solo trumpet and chamber orchestration, and I've never been overly thrilled with any of them. This arrangement subscribes to the ideal that "less is more" and fits more groups as it doesn't require winds or keyboard."
