That Easter Day With Joy Was Bright uses the tune Puer Nobis Nascitur, attributed to Michael Praetorius, but which may have fifteenth- or even fourteenth-century folk roots. This arrangement is for unaccompanied brass quintet, with a slightly different harmonization for each of the four verses, and giving most of the parts the melody at one time or another.
