Magnificat

Johann Pachelbel’s Magnificat is based on the traditional canticle from the Gospel of Luke, long used in Lutheran and Catholic evening services. Written in the late Baroque period, the music reflects Pachelbel’s straightforward contrapuntal style, clear harmonic writing, and strong emphasis on chorale-like textures.
