The Composer writes:
"In these four songs I attempted to capture through words and music a brief look at emotions and common themes often used by Shakespeare. From Sonnet 116, Love Alters Not we see love as eternal and (hopefully) unchanging in nature. In Sonnet 60, That Which Goes Before, the fragility and transience of life is offered, with a nod to the pop/folk style of Gordon Lightfoot. From The Tempest, Full Fathom Five begins dark and gloomy enough, but transforms into the fantastical with sea-nymphs ringing bells around father's bones. From Much Ado About Nothing, Sigh No More, Ladies is a joyful farce entreating women to rid themselves of the useless men in their lives."
