Ignaz Lachner was one of a family of German composers active throughout Germany and Austria during the early 19th century.  Ignaz was born in Rain am Lech in 1807. He served as an organist in Vienna at the Lutheran Church before becoming assistant Kapellmeister of the Vienna Hofoper. He then moved to Stuttgart to become court musical director and then moved on to Munich to take the position of assistant Kapellmeister of the Hofoper in 1842. He served as principal Kapellmeister of the Hamburg theatre and then accepted an appointment as court Kapellmeister in Stockholm. He remained in Sweden for only a few years and then moved to Frankfurt where he was chief conductor until his retirement in 1875. He was a modestly prolific composer and many of his works were quite successful during his lifetime.

This edition is for Voice, Cello and Piano.
The piece is available in the keys of C, D, Eb, or F.  The locked PDF contains all versions.
