The Aeolian tune SALVATION was first printed in the first edition of Ananias Davisson’s Kentucky Harmony (Harrisonburg, VA, 1816). SALVATION was attributed to Robert Boyd, a singing-school teacher of Blount County, Tennessee, and a captain in the Blount County militia.

Trumpet parts are provided in B♭ and C.
