This product includes two arrangements for the famous pop song Sweet Caroline for one price. Your quintet would typically play one or the other, not both, on a gig.

Concert Version (3:00 duration, Grade 4)

 

The first version is a creative, brass quintet-only arrangement of Sweet Caroline that is appropriate as a standard concert selection.

Karaoke Version (6:00+ minute duration, Grade 3)

 

 

The second version can be used by groups that include comedy “bits” in their shows. This bit entertains the audience while giving player chops a rest with very modest playing demands.

 

Comedy Routine Summary for Karaoke Version The leader runs a karaoke singing contest for 2 (or more) audience volunteers (or draftees) using the song Sweet Caroline. Each contestant sings the first verse and one chorus.

The script can be followed closely or loosely. Most of this was ad lib’d during this very first performance. The song and bit were a total surprise to the players who were handed the music by the leader just as the bit started! The backup parts for the quintet have been rewritten since the time of the recording.
